Our Wedding

Our story, like many others, began with a bee. In a time of masks and distance, and in a world muted by restrictions. But even then, amidst the uncertainty, a tiny, buzzing matchmaker intervened and as the world slowly began to reopen, so did our possibilities for connection. We dove headfirst into cohabitation in the heart of a city we now call our own. We found joy in the unexpected, by sitting on lawn chairs in our living room (due to furniture shortages), shucking oysters at our kitchen counter while sipping different champagnes, challenging each others golf swings (with varying degrees of success), and discovering the simple pleasure of long, winding walks side by side staring at dogs. Our paths may have taken us down different roads, but they led us here, to this moment, to this love, and full of unique experiences and activities. We are so grateful for each of you, our family and friends, who have supported us on this incredible journey. Your presence at our wedding, and your contributions to our new life together, mean the world to us. Thank you for being a part of our story, a story that began with a bee, grew through laughter, and blossomed into a love that will last a lifetime.

St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church798 Hudson StreetHoboken, NJ 07030<a href="https://www.stmatthewtrinity.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.stmatthewtrinity.org/</a> A Brief History of our Church: 1858&nbsp;&nbsp;St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church is formed, predominantly made up of people of German ancestry. They worshiped on the corner of Washington &amp; 3rd Streets in Hoboken. The original building still stands, although altered to become the present home of McDonald's in Hoboken. 1878&nbsp;The St. Matthew congregation moves into a new sanctuary on Hudson &amp; 8th Streets, the edge of town at the time. 1890&nbsp;The Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Church on 9th and Clinton Streets forms, comprising mainly of members of Norwegian and Swedish ancestry. 1903&nbsp;People of German and English ancestry start the Holy Trinity English Evangelical Lutheran Church on 10th and Garden streets in 1903. 1948&nbsp;The Holy Trinity and the Scandinavian Lutheran Church merge to form the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church using the property on 9th and Clinton as their house of worship. 1969&nbsp;The Trinity congregation combines with St. Matthew’s to form the present congregation now known as St. Matthew Trinity Lutheran Church worshiping at 8th and Hudson Streets.
